ATLANTA, Oct. 1 -- Porsche Cars North America, Inc., (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars (Boxster, 911 and Cayenne) in the United States, today announced U.S. retail sales for September totaled 2,384 cars, an increase of 96 percent compared to the same period last year. Total calendar year-to-date, sales were 20,422, up from 16,891, an increase of 21 percent.
"Due to the market introduction of the 911 Turbo Cabriolet and 911 C4S Cabriolet and the continued market acceptance of the Cayenne S and Turbo, our sales totals for September 2003 are the largest for any September in the history of Porsche in the United States," said Peter Schwarzenbauer, PCNA President and CEO. "These numbers indicate the enthusiasm our customers have for our wide range of Porsche products."
