Sonic Jet Performance, Inc. Changes Name to Force Protection, Inc.

CEO Says Name Reflects New Focus on Innovative Products

CHARLESTON, S.C., Sept. 30 -- Sonic Jet Performance, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: SJET) announced today that it filed the necessary amendment to its articles of incorporation with the Secretary of State of Colorado, changing its name to Force Protection, Inc., as approved by shareholder vote on August 21, 2003. The company's stock symbol will also change to reflect its focus on vehicles and technology to protect and save lives.

Force Protection through its Technical Solutions Group (TSG) subsidiary, manufactures highly advanced landmine protected and landmine resistant vehicles. CEO Michael Watts remarked, "We chose 'Force Protection' because we felt it was important to stress the ongoing focus of the company." Force protection is a doctrine essential to all operations. It is concerned with the preservation of vital resources -- lives, equipment, and materials -- so that they can be used to accomplish mission aims. Mr. Watts continued. "As we continue to seek opportunities in this arena, and as TSG continues to develop and manufacture advanced force protection equipment, it's important that the name reflect our aims. Force protection attempts to safeguard our positions by protecting or reducing friendly critical vulnerabilities. It includes actions and measures that preserve combat power so it can be applied decisively when needed. More than just self-protection or base-protection measures, force protection is at its heart preventing an enemy from adversely affecting a force's ability to conduct successful operations. In today's world, this is the overwhelming challenge facing armed forces. Force Protection, Inc., will provide essential tools in meeting that challenge."

Force protection has become increasingly important because of the changing nature of the modern world. Even with the downsizing of their armed forces, the United States and its allies remain the dominant conventional force across all military dimensions. The inability of enemies to challenge this power directly has led to asymmetric, non-traditional attacks, designed less to accomplish military aims than to weaken domestic political resolve and to sway public opinion. Terrorism, guerilla warfare, and subversive activities have gained new significance in this changing military landscape.

TSG President Garth Barrett commented, "Force protection relies on integrating the full range of offensive and defensive capabilities. It will be achieved primarily through the skillful combination of active and passive measures across a broad spectrum of operations and functions. TSG is looking forward to helping our forces and those of our allies to achieve an acceptable level of risk."
