Freudenberg-NOK Appoints Evans as General Counsel
PLYMOUTH, Mich., Sept. 29 -- Freudenberg-NOK has appointed Robert G. Evans as vice president and general counsel, a newly created position for the company. The announcement was made by Dr. Mohsen Sohi, president and chief executive officer of Freudenberg-NOK.

In this new position, located at Freudenberg-NOK's headquarters in Plymouth, Evans will oversee Freudenberg-NOK's legal matters and will report directly to Sohi.
Most recently, Evans held various legal positions at NCR Corp., including law vice president and chief counsel for its Retail Solutions Division in Duluth, Ga. Prior to that, he served as assistant law vice president and senior attorney for the company's Financial Solutions Division in Dayton, Ohio. In these positions, he was responsible for advising management on a wide range of legal matters, including commercial contracts, litigation and disputes, labor and employment, intellectual property, mergers, acquisitions and dispositions.
Previously, from 1993 to 1997, Evans served Kimberly-Clark Corp. in Neenah, Wis. in various positions of increasing responsibility, including attorney, senior attorney and associate counsel. In addition to providing general legal support to three North American consumer businesses, Evans was responsible for management of employment-related litigation for all of Kimberly-Clark's North American consumer businesses.
From 1989 to 1993, Evans was an associate at the law firm of Ice Miller in Indianapolis, where he advised clients on various aspects of real estate finance, development, acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, litigation and real estate considerations of business mergers and acquisitions.
Evans earned a bachelor of arts degree from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., and a juris doctor from Vanderbilt University Law School in Nashville, Tenn. He has co-authored two published articles and is a member of American Corporate Counsel Association and the Indiana State Bar Association.
