Gentex Shipping Automatic-Dimming Mirrors with HomeLink to Nissan
ZEELAND, Mich., Sept. 29 -- Gentex Corporation, the leading supplier of automatic-dimming rearview mirrors to the worldwide automotive industry, is shipping interior, automatic-dimming mirrors with HomeLink for the 2004 Nissan 350Z, Murano, Quest, and the new Maxima.
Gentex Night Vision Safety(TM) (NVS(R)) mirrors automatically darken to reduce glare from the headlamps of vehicles approaching from the rear. The brighter the glare, the darker the mirrors become, making nighttime driving safer.
For the 350Z, the Gentex auto-dimming mirror is standard on the vehicle's upper-level models, and houses a fully integrated Johnson Controls' HomeLink Wireless Control System. Three buttons conveniently located on the face of the mirror can be programmed to operate garage doors, estate gates, security systems, home lighting, and other radio-frequency controlled devices.
The Gentex auto-dimming mirror is also standard on the Murano, and in addition to featuring HomeLink, contains a built-in electronic compass display that utilizes Johnson Controls' PathPoint(R) Digital Compass System.
The upper-level models of the Quest come standard with an auto-dimming HomeLink mirror.
For the Maxima, the Gentex auto-dimming HomeLink mirror is standard, with some trim levels also offering the integrated compass display.
"Virtually every segment-leading vehicle incorporates glare-reduction technology, and these Nissan vehicles are no exception," stated Garth Deur, Gentex executive vice president. "Nissan is a valued customer, and it's a privilege to have our auto-dimming mirrors on these head-turning, award- winning vehicles. We look forward to helping Nissan bring new and exciting technologies into the vehicle as they continue to utilize the mirror as an electronic module."
