GREAT CLIPS RACING AND DRIVER KASEY KAHNE SUPPORT CORPORATE CHARITABLE
INITIATIVE DURING MONTH OF OCTOBER

(MOORESVILLE, N.C.) For the entire month of October, the No. 38 Great
Clips Ford will feature the Great Needs. Great Deeds. logo on the decklid in
support of the company's month-long charitable initiative. As the philanthropic
division of Great Clips for hair, Great Needs. Great Deeds., is aimed at
assisting non-profit organizations throughout the United States.
The NASCAR Busch Series events where the logo will be present are Kansas
Speedway (October 4), Lowe's Motor Speedway (October 10), Memphis Motorsports
Park (October 18) and Atlanta Motor Speedway (October 25).
"I am glad that our race team is able to support Great Clips through
their Great Needs. Great Deeds. program," said Great Clips driver Kasey Kahne.
"We will feature the logo on our car in the four races throughout the month of
October, so hopefully that will raise some awareness and fans will go to their
local Great Clips salon for a haircut. It's an excellent way to give back to
the community while also getting a great haircut."
Great Clips, the nation's largest single-branded hair care franchise,
will host its second annual Cut-A-Thon throughout the month of October. This
year, nearly 2,000 Great Clips salons across North America will unite to raise
money for charity.
During the Cut-A-Thons, highly trained Great Clips stylists will donate
their time and skills in support of the organization's Great Needs. Great Deeds.
charity program. Each salon will contribute a percentage of the proceeds
from haircuts, perms and outside donations to local charities.
This system-wide Cut-A-Thon is just one of many events within Great
Clips' Great Needs. Great Deeds. program. In 2002, Great Clips salons raised more
than $350,000 for non-profit organizations - a more than 15 percent increase
over 2001.
"The Great Needs. Great Deeds. charity program has been very successful
and numerous charities have benefited from the generosity of all the people
associated with the program," said Terri Miller, vice president of marketing,
Great Clips, Inc. "Last year was a record year for charity donations from Great
Clips and this year we want to break that record."
Great Clips, Inc., headquartered in Minneapolis, is one of the nation's
largest franchisers in the $50-billion hair care industry. Established in
1982, Great Clips perfected a system for delivering competitively priced, high
quality haircuts and perms to men, women and children. The company began
franchising in 1983, and today, nearly 2,000 Great Clips salons operate in 85 markets
across the U.S. and Canada.
