Revolution Motorsports Motorock Miami 100 - Practice
Bobby Sak 4th Quickest in Practice for the Motorock Miami 100
Don Sak returns with a splash!
Miami, Sept. 26, 2003 – The Trans-Am Series Motorock Tour for the
BFGoodrich Tires Cup cars took to the streets of Miami today amidst a
steady downpour. The first round of practice was all but a loss with
cars running 10+ seconds off the pace.
“It was pretty hairy out there,” reported #10 Revolution Motorsports
driver, Bobby Sak. “But I’m glad it was the first session. If the
weather situation turns bad on Sunday, we’ll have a good idea of what
to expect.”
The afternoon round was bright and sunny and the Trans-Am drivers made
it count. Times came up quickly and the battle for good practice times
was on.
“Man, that was fun,” commented Don Sak. “This is my first time in the
car since VIR last year. I’m blown away by the power we’re producing.
These CRD motors are awesome. I’ve never driven a car with so much
power.”
Don Sak is driving the #2 Revolution Motorsports/Trenton Forging
Corvette for the first time this season.
Rookie of the Year contender, Bobby Sak, wasted no time getting the #10
car up to speed. He finished the day fourth fastest.
“I really like the track,” said Bobby. “I guess it’s just over a mile,
but it twists through here pretty good. We’ve got a much different
field of competitors this weekend, including that guy in the #2 car,”
he laughed. “We’re going to really have to stay on our toes coming
through traffic. Since the track is so short, we’ll need to stay smart
and pick our spots to get by safely. I’m pleased that the Chief Steward
[Terry Dale] has been pretty thorough with his instructions to the
drivers about all working together. It is tight here, so we’ll be
running pretty bunched up all day. The fans should see a great race.”
The father and son duo will be fielding the #2 and #10 Revolution
Motorsports Corvettes as part of the Motorock Miami 100. The Trans-Am
event will take place on the streets of Miami Friday. September 26,
through the 28th. The race will air on SPEED October 10 at 9pm EST.
Revolution Motorsports in association with Trenton Forging competes as
part of the MotoRock Trans-Am Tour for the BF Goodrich Tires Cup. All
events are nationally televised on PEE. The Trans-Am Series is the
oldest form of American sports car racing.
