Rocketsports Notes and Quotes - Scott Pruett and Paul Gentilozzi

ROCKETSPORTS RACING
SCOTT PRUETT & PAUL GENTILOZZI
DRIVER NOTES AND QUOTES
MOTOROCK TRANS-AM TOUR
FOR THE BFGOODRICH TIRES CUP

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 26TH POST-PRACTICE

SCOTT PRUETT, DRIVER OF THE NO. 7 MOTOROCK/JAGUAR R PERFORMANCE XKR, WAS
FASTEST IN THE AFTERNOON PRACTICE SESSION WITH A TIME OF 53:526.

PRUETT CAN CLINCH HIS THIRD TRANS-AM DRIVERS¹ CHAMPIONSHIP BY FINISHING
FIFTH OR BETTER IN SUNDAY¹S MOTOROCK MIAMI 100 BATTLE BY THE BEACH RACE
EVEN IF HIS TEAMMATE, JOHNNY MILLER, COLLECTS ALL POSSIBLE POINTS THIS
WEEKEND.

SPECIAL NOTE Three-time Trans-Am champion Paul Gentilozzi planned to test
the new Jaguar AJ-V8 four-valve, fuel-injected engine (No. 3 Motorock Jaguar
XKR) debuted yesterday by Scott Pruett at Putnam Park during the Jaguar
³Born to Perform² media day held in conjunction with this weekend¹s F-1
race in Indianapolis. Unfortunately, on the way to pit lane, a steering
knuckle broke, necessitating repair work in pit lane. By the time the
repair was completed, the remainder of the session was red-flagged.

Following yesterday morning¹s press preview, the three Rocketsports crew
members drove non-stop to get the car to Miami in time for the afternoon
practice session. The plan was to take advantage of an opportunity, not
normally available, to test the engine in a true street-course environment.
Because championships and point standings are at stake, Gentilozzi had not
planned to drive in either the qualifying session or the race.

Gentilozzi now plans to drive the No. 3 Motorock Jaguar XKR during the
15-minute warm-up session on Sunday.

On Pruett¹s afternoon practice sessionŠ ³I¹m still getting to know the
track. It¹s difficult to learn in the rain. The car was pretty good
considering the changes in the track.

³We were off in our gearing chart and we need to do a lot of work. First
gear was fine, but everything else will change. She¹s not where she wants
to be.²
