DaimlerChrysler Statement in Response to Ratification Of New Labor Agreement with United Auto Workers

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Sept. 26 -- "We're very pleased that the UAW-represented employees of the Chrysler Group have ratified the new labor contract," said Chrysler Group CEO and President Dieter Zetsche. "It's recognition that this agreement, which was achieved after many months of collective bargaining, truly balances the needs of our employees and our company.

"We believe the agreement is not only fair and balanced, but also provides a framework to improve our competitiveness going forward," Zetsche added. "It's a positive step toward building a solid future for our company, our employees and their families.
