SPX Contech Cast Pacifica Suspension Links Honored by North American Die Casting Association
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 26 -- SPX Corporation today announced that its Contech business has been selected as the winner of the prestigious 2003 NADCA International Die Casting Competition. Contech's aluminum Process 2000 cast Suspension Links received the award for excellence in Aluminum Die Casting in the Squeeze/Semi-Solid category.
The winning casting is produced for the Chrysler Group using Contech's proprietary Process 2000 technology. These suspension links are used on the Chrysler Pacifica. Contech's Process 2000 has allowed Chrysler Group engineers to move away from more costly aluminum forgings, while simultaneously reducing overall weight and maintaining the necessary product strength.
