Photo-Scan signs major agreement to supply security and information systems on London's buses
London, September 26 -- Photo-Scan plc, the security and surveillance systems specialist, has signed a long term partnership agreement with Crystal Eyes Ltd. to supply, install and maintain security and information systems for buses in London and in other major cities.
Under the agreement, both companies will work together over the next five years to win orders for a minimum of 6,000 new installed systems on buses. This could generate revenues in excess of £40 million for Photo-Scan.
Over the last two years the mobile information and security systems have already been successfully installed and operated on a number of buses in London. The system includes closed-circuit television (CCTV) monitoring on the buses themselves, together with global positioning system (GPS) tracking that is capable of providing journey times and destination information to passengers on the bus and those waiting at bus stops.
Bus drivers are able to monitor the passenger areas of their vehicles and the bus operators can track the progress of their vehicles along their routes. Television screens on the buses are used to provide passenger information, entertainment and advertising whilst CCTV footage from inside the buses is downloaded and stored in case any incidents need to be investigated subsequently.
Crystal Eyes is a private company formed to develop the systems capable of providing comprehensive information and security for bus operators. Under the terms of the agreement, Photo-Scan will be the exclusive supplier for the installation and maintenance of these systems over the next five years. This agreement represents the type of long term partnership sought by Photo-Scan as part of its new business strategy announced earlier this year.
