GMAC Mortgage Announces New Chief Information Officer

HORSHAM, Pa. September 26, 2003; GMAC Mortgage has named Bill Shuler its chief information officer, with responsibility for providing vision and leadership for developing and implementing information technology initiatives for the company.

"Bill's talent and experience in the mortgage industry will be critical as we develop and implement new technology platforms across all of our businesses," said GMAC Mortgage, chief operating officer, Ralph Hall.

Before joining GMAC Mortgage, Shuler was senior vice president and chief information officer of National City Mortgage in Miamisburg, Ohio. Shuler also spent three years with AccuBanc Mortgage (which became part of National City Bank) in Dallas where he served as executive vice president and chief information officer. From 1986 to 1997, Shuler was a vice president with Ryland Mortgage Company in Columbia, Maryland, where he was responsible for strategic information planning and direction of systems and engineering development.

Shuler began his career as an Audit Manager in 1978 with Citicorp/Citibank, in its Baltimore, Maryland, and New York City locations. From 1981 to 1986, he served as systems project manager for the card products division.

The acting chief information officer at GMAC Mortgage, Mike Amble, resumed his position as chief technology officer for the company.
