VW Trends' Aloha Charity Cruise Sponsored by Commonwealth VW & Audi To Benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County
A day of cruising and festivities features special stops, car show, games and live entertainment, October 18
ANAHEIM, Calif., Sept. 25 -- VW Trends Magazine, a PRIMEDIA publication, and Commonwealth VW & Audi proudly present the 3rd Annual VW Trends' Aloha Charity Cruise on Saturday, October 18, 2003. All non-perishable items donated at this year's cruise and afternoon event directly benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.
"With the increased need to alleviate hunger and heighten awareness of the problem locally, Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County was a natural choice as this years' benefiting non-profit organization," stated Eric Williams, Marketing Manager of VW Trends, a leading specialty magazine that reaches more than 400,000 readers nationwide.
Volkswagen owners from Orange County, San Diego, Los Angeles and the Inland Empire will join other VW enthusiasts for a cruise up the Orange County coast, starting at the Oakley headquarters in Foothill Ranch (One Icon) and ending at the Newport Dunes in Newport Beach (1131 Back Bay Dr.) for an afternoon full of activities for the entire family. Along the cruise route participants will see one of country's most beautiful coastlines, eat some of the best tacos in town courtesy of Wahoo's Fish Tacos, show their cars and have the opportunity to win a few goodies along the way. Once at Newport Dunes around noon, drivers, passengers and those who just want to attend will enjoy live entertainment -- including Hawaiian music and a DJ -- food, games, vendor booths and a car show with more than 100 customized VWs. The show will feature everything air-cooled, from bugs to buses, race cars to Things, and Ghias too.
VW owners and enthusiasts can pre-register online at www.vwtrendsweb.com. Participation fee per vehicle (one driver) is $20. If you bring a minimum of 3 non-perishable food items to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County the registration fee is $15. All registered VW owners will receive an event T-shirt, a Wahoo's Fish Taco lunch-ticket, free admittance to the Newport Dunes entertainment and a goodie-bag filled with prizes. Passengers who ride with registered participants pay $5 and also receive a lunch-ticket and free access to afternoon entertainment. Entry for event spectators is $8.
