Amerigon Appoints Daniel J. Pace Vice President, Sales & Marketing
DEARBORN, Mich., Sept. 25 -- Amerigon Incorporated announced today that veteran automotive executive Daniel J. Pace, 52, has been promoted to Vice President, Sales and Marketing, effective immediately. In his new position, Pace, the Company's former Director of North American Sales, will be responsible for managing all sales and marketing functions worldwide, and he will report directly to President and Chief Executive Officer Daniel R. Coker. He will continue to work out of the Company's corporate headquarters in Dearborn.
"Dan's broad knowledge and expertise in the automotive industry combined with the strong relationships he has established with customers in the global automotive industry will be extremely important in his new position," Coker said. "Dan has been instrumental in driving the adoption and expansion of our Climate Control Seat(TM) (CCS(TM)) system and has an exemplary record of successfully executing a number of new and ongoing CCS sales programs. He has been a key member of our team for almost seven years and has proven himself to be a valuable asset to the Company."
Pace has more than 30 years of sales, marketing and management experience in the automotive industry. He joined Amerigon in 1996 as National Sales Manager where his responsibilities included establishing and staffing the Company's Detroit sales and technical support office to service the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) market in North America. He also played an important role in helping establish the Company's relationship with the Ford Motor Company and he has been a key contributor to the program that resulted in the selection of Amerigon's CCS system by the Cadillac division of General Motors. Pace also developed and implemented the sales strategy for the introduction of the CCS system into the 2000 Lincoln Navigator Sports Utility Vehicle, the first vehicle to offer CCS.
Prior to his tenure at Amerigon, Pace spent 10 years at Farmington Hills, MI-based Leckie & Associates, a manufacturers' representative agency. As Program Manager, he developed strategies to introduce new products to the OEM market, including a new interior seating project and the introduction of the remote low tire pressure monitoring system.
Pace is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and the Automotive Society of Body Engineers. He is married and resides with his family in Berlin Township, MI.
