Terry Borcheller scored his 50th professional race win this past weekend, but 
a broken gear stopped him from making it 51.

Borcheller, of Phoenix, and Forest Barber of Fort Worth, Tex., drove the No. 
54 Bell Motorsports BMW M3 from 10th to first in the GSII class during the 
Sept. 20 Grand-Am Cup race at le Circuit Mont-Tremblant in Mont-Tremblant, Qué.  
Barber qualified and started 10th, then moved up seven positions to third 
during the first race stint.  Borcheller took the wheel just past the first hour 
of the three-hour race.  He led twice during his stint, holding the second lead 
to the checkered flag.

The win moved the pair into first place in the Grand-Am Cup GSII driver 
championship.

"It was a great race," Borcheller said.  "Forest had a great start and ran a 
great stint. The team did a great job with the strategy and the preparation of 
the car was perfect."

Andy Pilgrim of Delray Beach, Fla., joined Borcheller and Barber for the 
six-hour Rolex Sports Car Series race on Sept. 21, also on the 2.65-mile 
Mont-Tremblant road course.

"It was exciting having the longer race because we had some new faces in the 
series," Borcheller noted.  "It was great to have Andy there.  He was such a 
complement to the team.  He was a big asset, as we knew he would be."

Barber qualified the No. 54 Bell Motorsports Doran JE4 fourth on the Rolex 
Series grid in one minute 33.508 seconds.  He drove the first stint of the 
six-hour race, holding fourth position.  Borcheller took the second stint and moved 
up to lead the race for 45 minutes before pitting with a broken second gear.

"Forest did a phenomenal job qualifying and starting," Borcheller said.  "We 
razzled them again with our strategy.  We just called it perfectly and the 
race was falling into our hands until the gear failure.  We did everything right, 
it was just a real shame that the gear broke.  But we only lost 14 laps to 
the leader doing a complete gear-stack change.  That's pretty amazing!"

Pilgrim returned to the track 14 laps behind the leader, sixth in the DP 
class and 14th overall.  He regained two laps, two class positions and six overall 
positions during his two-hour stint.  Borcheller drove the final 90 minutes.  
He gained two more overall positions and set the fastest race lap (1:31.176) 
as he closed to 41.54 seconds behind third place.  The trio finished fourth in 
class, sixth overall.

Borcheller said his final stint was exhausting.  "It was fastest race laps 
every lap.  We were two or three laps down from the [third-place] Picchio, and 
we just wanted that one more position because of the [championship] points 
chase.  I just drove my tail off.  They had to peel me out of the car."
