Safelite Deploys Oblix Netpoint Identity Management Across Enterprise

NetPoint Solution Enables Employee Authentication and Authorization Across Corporate Intranet and Delivers Foundation for Upcoming Extranet Deployments

CUPERTINO, Calif., Sept. 22 -- Oblix, a leading developer of identity-based security solutions, today announced that Safelite(R) Glass Corp. plans to deploy the Oblix NetPoint(R) Identity Management and Access Control Solution for enterprise-wide authentication, authorization and provisioning. As a result of the deployment, Safelite employees will use Web single sign-on (SSO) to log onto the intranet with a single user name and password, gaining access to all back-end applications. Safelite is currently working to expand its SSO relationships with business partners, clients, and suppliers.

Over six thousand Safelite employees distributed across ten disparate Websites will use Web SSO to access financial, data warehousing, human resources and CRM applications. Oblix NetPoint facilitates a seamless, secure and personalized user experience by validating authentication upon login, and displaying a personalized user portal that lists accessible applications. From this portal employees can initiate one-click access to authorized data and applications.

"Safelite is completely dedicated to first rate customer service and to seamless and secure management of our internal systems, processes and infrastructure," said Tim Plzak, Safelite Chief Technology Officer. "Oblix has helped us to build an Identity Management infrastructure that allows our data warehouse, enterprise applications, field/mobile and CRM technologies to work together seamlessly. We plan to extend our use of Oblix NetPoint integrated with SAML to insurance partners in support of our property and casualty claims management."

SAML, Security Assertion Markup Language, is an XML-based security standard for exchanging user authentication and authorization information. By combining SAML with Oblix NetPoint's Identity Management functionality, Safelite can securely and cost-effectively manage employee identity information across disparate corporate boundaries and integrate with insurance partners' systems.

"Safelite recognizes the business value of an Identity Management solution that can access content across applications and systems using a single user name and password," said Gordon Eubanks, president and chief executive officer, Oblix. "While reducing costs for the organization, Oblix NetPoint also enhances the online experience for Safelite employees by introducing security technology that delivers real-time and personalization information. Safelite can easily extend its existing Identity Management framework to customers and partners as Oblix NetPoint can scale to millions of users."
