Poran-LCata DORAN JC4 Toyata Qualifies Second
               Fer T o m w r d s  Six Hours af Mont-Tramblant

            MONT-TREMBLANT,  Quebec,  Sept.  20   - The   Doran-Lista  DORAN JE4
Toyota %27 will start second both averall and in the Daytona  Prototype class tomor-
row In the Six Hours of Mont-Tremblant Grand Am  Rolex Series race thanks to Bill
Auberlen's  qualifying lap of  1 ;30.837(105.0B mph) Saturday at Le  Circuit Mont-
     Tremblant.
Auberlen, of Hermosa Beach, Calif.,  took  only six-tenths of a second longer
than David Donohue did in the Brumos Fabcar Porsche #58 to travel over the 2.65-
mile course enroute to the pole.  Donohue's best lap in the 15minute qualrfying ses-
sion was done on hi5 second lap, while Auberlen's best lap was his third one.
Andy Lally qualified third in G&W Motorsports' Picchio BMW, while the other
DORAN JE4  in the  field,  the  Bell  Motorsports Chevy #54  of  Forest  Barber, Terry
Borcheller and Andy Pilgrim, will start fourth.
Doran-Lista Racing's  lead  driver,  Didier They$ 01  Scottsdale. Ark,  usually
qualifies but Auberlen was in the car for qualifying this time since he was the last driv-
er in the car during the Saturday morning practics 5e5sionI and thus was the one who
had the best feel for the latest changes made to the car's set-up. This is only the sec-
ond race ever for this particular car, and the team has been working very hard on it5
set-up this weekend.  Since it take5 a couple minutes for the particular compound of
Goodyear tires they're using to get up to their optimum temperature and the session
was so short,  a drivsr's change during qualifying wouldn't have been in the Mart's
     best interest.
Fredy Lienhard Sr. of  Niederteufen, Switzerland rounds out  the three-driver
roster  for  the  Doran-Lista team.    We   is  making his  first  start  ever  in a  Dayton3

Promtype mr   here. Team  owner Kevin Doran said the driver order tomorrow would
be Auberlen, Lienhard Sr. and Theys.
Although Donahue said he thought he got almost 100 percent out of  hi5 car
enraute to winning the pole, Auberlen said the Doran-Lish  DORAN JE4 has more to
give, which bodes well for  the team?s chances to   win  its second consecutive race
     here.
?There?s more in the car than I got out of it,? Aukwlen said.  ?At the beginning
of qualifying, during the time I was feeling it out, I should have been wing for it,? he
explained.  ?By the time I really got after it, our sticker Goodyears had enough wear
an them that I didn?t have quite what I newed for the pole.
?The guys are doing sa much with this car that it?s hard for the driver$ to keep
pace with the changes, but all the changes are positive ones,? he continued.  ?We?re
     going in the right direction.
?This  is a great  car to go  racing with,? Auberlan  noted. ?Wdre testing some
new StopTech brake wmpments here,  and they?re awesome.   Providing that we
don?t make any mistakes, nothing fails and we don?t run into any problems, we?ll be
there.  We have to go smooth and sensible.?
?It was a great lap under optimum  mnditlons,w said Doran, who  added that
Auberlen?s time wa6  even better than what he thought the car would do in qualifying
here. ?With the overcast skies and the low humidity, the conditions were excellent for
a great lap, and both Bill and the Red Bull car had two really good ones.?
The start of  tomorrow?s race will he  covered live on SPEED beginning at  11
     am. Eastern time.
