Goodyear's Annual U.S. Savings Bond Program Will Benefit Veterans Foundation

Consumers Buy Selected Goodyear Tires and Receive a $50 U.S. Savings Bond

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Sept. 19 -- The Veterans Foundation Incorporated announces today that The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company will run its annual U.S. Savings Bond program as part of its Super Savings Tire Sale starting September 21 and continuing through October 25, 2003. With the purchase of selected Goodyear tires, consumers will receive a $50 U.S. Savings Bond. Proceeds from selected tire purchases will go directly to Veterans Foundation Incorporated (VFI), a national, non-profit organization dedicated to the men and women who have made tremendous sacrifices to protect America's freedom.

As a way to connect with Americans across the country, VFI's annual project, the nationally televised American Veteran Awards (AVA's), was created to raise awareness in support of veterans, active duty service members and military families.

"We couldn't be happier to be a part of Goodyear's U.S. Savings Bond program which sends a message across America that there are companies working hard to improve the stature of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in serving his or her country," said Harry Shaw, president and chief executive officer of VFI. "We hope that more companies will support America's service organizations who work in the trenches each day to improve the lives of service members and their families."

"Goodyear is pleased to work with the Veterans Foundation in this promotional sale that benefits veterans, their families, and the tire purchaser. This offer is backed by network cable TV, network radio and national print ads," said Mike Kitz, Goodyear's vice president, marketing, North American Tire.

Consumers can visit a local Goodyear retailer for complete details, call 1-800-Goodyear for the participating retailers, or visit www.goodyeartires.com/promotions/tire_promotions.html .
