combined with extensive tyre testing with Michelin. Over the course of the
three days, Juan Pablo completed 894 kilometres whilst Marc managed to total
an impressive 1438 kilometres. Juan Pablo¹s fastest recorded lap of the
three day session was a 1:19.966s.
Sam Michael (Chief Operations Engineer, WilliamsF1):
" We have had a good test at Silverstone with Juan Pablo and Marc. We
covered all of the programme and found some mechanical improvements to the
car that we will take to the US Grand Prix. Both cars completed tyre tests
to finalise compound choice for Suzuka as well."
Mario Theissen (BMW Motorsport Director):
"From BMW's point of view, this week¹s test was a successful one. We covered
an impressive amount of mileage and completed the programme as scheduled.
Now we can concentrate on the race at Indianapolis, where we hope to be able
to demonstrate the improvements we¹ve made this week."
