General Motors Corp. Statement

Detroit Sept. 18, 2003; General Motors and the UAW have reached a tentative agreement on a new national contract, covering approximately 115,000 represented employees.

The agreement was reached Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003, after two months of negotiations with the UAW. The UAW now will share details of the tentative agreement with its members as part of the union's ratification process.
