Terry Borcheller of Phoenix will be looking for his 50th professional race 
win this weekend in a double-header at le Circuit Mont-Tremblant in Québec.  
Borcheller and Forest Barber of Fort Worth, Tex., will start with the Sept. 20 
Grand-Am Cup race on the 2.65-mile road course, driving the No. 54 Bell 
Motorsports BMW M3.  They'll switch to the No. 54 Bell Motorsports Doran JE4 Daytona 
Prototype for a six-hour Rolex Sports Car Series endurance race on Sept. 21.

Borcheller and Barber won the 2002 Grand-Am Cup race at Mont-Tremblant, 
giving them an extra boost this year.

"Forest and I won there last year in the Grand-Am Cup series, so I think 
we've got a good handle on it from a setup standpoint and from a driving 
standpoint," Borcheller noted.  "It's just a really good race track. It's technical, 
fast, smooth and there are a lot of places to pass.  It is a fun track."

Pilgrim power

Andy Pilgrim of Delray Beach, Fla., will join the team for the Rolex Series 
race.  Borcheller knows Pilgrim's style, after sharing the Speedvision Cup 
championship with him in 1998.

"We believe that he is the man," Borcheller said.  "He's the perfect choice 
for what we're trying to accomplish because of his professionalism on and off 
the track.  He'll do a great job in the race car, he'll do a great job with 
setup, he'll be fast, he'll be smart.  He's exactly what you need when you're 
trying to win a championship."

Borcheller and Barber scored their seventh win of the season on Sept. 13, 
taking the Grand-Am Cup win at Mosport International Raceway in Bowmanville, Ont. 
 Barber qualified second in the GSII class and drove the first stint.  
Borcheller drove the final stint and took the class lead 20 minutes before the 
finish of the three-hour race.  He was passed on the second-last lap, but regained 
the lead on the last turn of the final lap.  He set a class race-lap record of 
one minute 31.990 seconds on the 2.459-mile road course en route to the 
victory.

"Forest qualified three-thousandths [of a second] off the track record!  He 
had a great run," Borcheller noted.  "He did a phenomenal job, running at the 
front.  He brought it in close to where he qualified. It was a real exciting 
race."

The Mosport victory put Borcheller and Barber in a four-way tie for first 
place in the Grand-Am Cup GSII driver championship, and Borcheller is just one 
point behind first place in the Rolex Series DP driver standings.  With three 
races remaining in each series this season, Borcheller said he will maintain his 
aggressive race stance, but he will modify his pre-race strategy. With five 
professional race championships, he knows how to make it happen.

"You have to really be sharp and maybe take a few less chances in practice 
and qualifying, but at the same time, you can't be conservative," he explained.  
"You have to keep the same focus you've had all year and drive the way you've 
driven all year and run the team the way it's been run all year.  In practice 
and qualifying, you just don't take as many risks.  You know that taking a 
risk could hinder the performance of the car or the team, if they're up all 
night fixing the car.  But in the race, we'll be out there and going for it."

The Grand-Am Cup race is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20 from 2:25 pm to 
5:25 pm, and the Rolex Sports Car Series race for Sunday, Sept. 21 from 11 am to 
5 pm, both on the 2.65-mile Circuit Mont-Tremblant road course in 
Mont-Tremblant, Qué.  The Rolex Series race will be telecast live on SPEED Channel 
starting at 11 am on Sunday, Sept. 21.  The Grand-Am Cup race will air on Saturday, 
Sept. 27 at 1 pm.
