Bryan Herta Ready for California Challange

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (September 16, 2003) ? After being involved in the
closest three-way finish in Indy Racing League IndyCarTM Series history, Bryan Herta is
looking to grab his second win of the 2003 season at California Speedway.
Although he joined the IndyCartm Series on a full time basis less than three
months ago, Herta has become on of the hottest drivers on the circuit.  He narrowly
missed a victory at Chicagoland Speedway by a mere .01 seconds and has raced to
three straight podium finishes.
In addition to momentum, Herta also brings experience to the two-mile track in
Fontana, Calif.  He raced there four times in Champ Cars starting in the top-five three
times.  Herta will combine his experience with data collected at a test last week by his
Andretti Green Racing teammates Tony Kanaan and Dan Wheldon.
Qualifying for the California Speedway event will take place on Saturday at 2 p.m.
(EDT). The race is set for Sunday at 3:30 p.m. (EDT) and will be broadcast live on ABC Sports.

Bryan Herta, #27 Archipelago/Motorola Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"I'm excited to come to a track that's near my home and that I've raced at a lot of
times.  The Archipelago/Motorola team has had some really good races the last three
weeks and I know we can compete for another win this weekend.  Tony (Kanaan) and
Dan (Wheldon) tested at California Speedway last week so the team has a good place
to start from when we unload off the truck.

Kyle Moyer, Team Manager, Archipelago/Motorola
?We?ve had some really good finishes the last three weeks, and when you are at
the front you?re going to win.  Bryan is driving really well right now and the
Archipelago/Motorola crew has done a great job on pit road, so we?re confident heading
into the next two races.?
