N.A.D.A. Manufactured Housing Appraisal Guide Now Approved by Fannie Mae

For the First Time, Housing Appraisers Have a Choice - N.A.D.A. One of Only Two Approved Cost Approaches for Manufactured Housing

COSTA MESA, Calif., Sept. 16 -- N.A.D.A. Appraisal Guides, the world's largest publisher of value guides and information, today announced it is now approved by Fannie Mae as an estimate guide that housing appraisers may use for completing a manufactured home appraisal. Until now, appraisers were allowed to use only one other competitive estimate guide per Fannie Mae guidelines for manufactured housing. With this announcement, N.A.D.A. now becomes one of only two Fannie Mae-approved cost approaches for manufactured housing appraisals.

"We're extremely pleased to announce our inclusion in a very elite and very exclusive manufactured housing estimate guide club," said Vince Pulsipher, manufactured housing editor for N.A.D.A. Appraisal Guides. "Fannie Mae's approval of our products not only provides appraisers with another resource when it comes to manufactured housing evaluations, but it also gives business professionals leading-edge N.A.D.A. products that contain more features and more options than competitive products."

N.A.D.A. offers a modified summation approach -- or cost approach -- to manufactured housing appraisals. Its products are manufacturer and trade name specific, features never before offered. Additionally, with the competitor's products, appraisers had to match manufactured homes and accompanying features with pictures or sketches of six grade qualities to determine cost, an often tedious and confusing process. N.A.D.A. eliminates the need for appraisers to make those determinations -- ultimately taking the guesswork out of the cost approach for manufactured housing structures.

Finally, N.A.D.A. Appraisal Guides contain more available options information for adjustments, including components, accessories and additive values. And the company's CD-ROM allows for easy appraisal value computation by automatically calculating appraisals and then providing itemized estimate value printout forms.

Since 1979, N.A.D.A. is HUD FHA Title 1 approved and, since 1977, is recognized by the Department of Veteran's Affairs.
