Nasdaq Updates Amerco Ticker Symbol

RENO, Sept. 15 -- AMERCO announced today that it has been advised by Nasdaq that its trading symbol will be changed from UHAEQ to UHALQ, in recognition of the Company's current filing status. The fifth character "Q" will remain appended to the Company's symbol pending its emergence from Chapter 11. The trading symbol will be changed from UHAEQ to UHALQ effective with the open of business on September 16, 2003.
