Trade Counsel to House Ways and Means Committee to Join Panel At Automotive Counterfeiting and Non-Compliant Part Seminar
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., Sept. 15 -- Mike Castellano, trade counsel for the Ways and Means Committee (Democrats) and trade and tax counsel to Rep. Sander M. Levin (D-Mich.), has been added to the speaker line- up for "Counterfeiting and Non-Compliant Parts in the Automotive Industry: How to Address a $12 Billion Problem" -- scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at the Dearborn Hyatt, Dearborn, Mich.
The one-day seminar is presented by the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) and its three market segment associations -- Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA), Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA) and Original Equipment Suppliers Association (OESA). The event is sponsored by Foley and Lardner.
Castellano will join a panel discussion of the government's role in addressing counterfeiting and non-compliant parts. Also on the panel are Michael Hathaway, partner, Nathan Associates Inc.; Nancy Kratzer, assistant director, fraud investigations, National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center; and Susan Tong, Office of the Chinese Economic Area, U.S. Department of Commerce.
The seminar also will include displays of non-compliant and counterfeit products.
Members of MEMA and its three market segment associations can attend the seminar for $295 if registered before Friday, Sept. 19, or $395 after Sept. 19.
