Global ET Successfully Installs SIMSigma Into Rear Suspension Module Sub-Assembly Line
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Sept. 15 -- Global ET in Southfield, MI, has successfully installed SIMSigma into a rear suspension module sub-assembly line integrated by GTS in Utica, MI. SIMSigma is used to ensure that assembly processes are completed properly before allowing a sub-assembly to advance through the assembly line. It assists in complex manufacturing operations by reducing mistakes, by identifying build issues early, and by validating that a module was successfully built before shipping to the final assembly facility. SIMSigma automatically collects critical information related to the assembly process and manages that information for the purposes of keeping records, reporting, and providing evidence of a successful build.
SIMSigma is an integrated solution that has been developed to enable manufacturers to measure, analyze, improve, and control assembly processes. These elements are essential as suppliers and manufacturers strive toward goals established by Six Sigma standards. Global ET, developer of SIMSigma, notes that subassembly build validation is a significant part of the manufacturing process. The trend is growing towards more sophisticated and integrated validation systems as OEMs impose warranty responsibilities back to the sub-module suppliers. Global ET sees a partnership with Automotive Suppliers that are allowing them to concentrate on their core competencies (module design, development, and manufacturing), by leveraging solutions such as SIMSigma into new assembly operations and into existing manufacturing infrastructures and processes.
