Another Solid Day for Team Target at New Hampshire

LOUDON, N.H. (September 14, 203) --- Casey Mears continued his consistency at New Hampshire International Speedway on Sunday. Mears, who qualified 18th for the Sylvania 300, finished the race in 17th place and moved up one spot in the championship points standings. Mears finished 16th in his last race at New Hampshire.

"This was just another good, solid finish," Mears said. "It wasn't anything special. We didn't do anything great and we didn't do anything bad, but we finished solid. Not doing anything bad is the key. We've just had some bad luck and made some mistakes lately, so to have a good solid run like this is really good for this Target race team. We got really slick at the end, and started losing some front grip. All in all, it wasn't too bad. We just had a good solid day, and it was a good step in the right direction for our team."

Mears started the race with a really tight racecar. Team Target made adjustments during pit stops to help with the handling of the car. By the halfway point of the race, the car was handling good with only a few minor problems. Mears, who had raced in the top-25 for the majority of the day, moved up to 17th place after a green flag pit stop for fuel only.

Team Target races at Dover International Speedway next weekend. Casey Mears will race in the Busch Series race as well as the Winston Cup race in Dover. The Dover 400 will be broadcast live on NBC television and MRN radio on Sunday, September 21st.
