READING, Pa. (Sept. 13, 2003) - The second straight 2003 NHRA POWERade Drag
Racing Series event, the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway
this weekend, has been postponed because of rain.

The Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals, Round 18 of 23, will return to Maple Grove on
Oct. 3-5, where the schedule will include two Nitro Top Fuel and Funny Car
qualifying sessions on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 12 noon and 3:30 p.m. Final
eliminations will take place on Sunday, Oct. 5.

Two weeks ago the U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis Raceway Park were rained
out on Labor Day and were completed a week later.

Whit Bazemore, driver of the Matco Tools Iron Eagle Dodge Stratus, was No.
14 qualifier in the one completed qualifying session here on Friday and will
hold that position going into the Oct. 4-5 event. Gary Scelzi, in the Oakley
Time Bomb Dodge Stratus and Scotty Cannon, in the Oakley Funny Car, did not
make the field this weekend and will attempt to qualify on Oct. 4.
