MOTHER NATURE A PROBLEM AT NO PROBLEM RACEWAY

BELLE ROSE, La. - Mother nature spoiled opening day at the O'Reilly Cajun Challenge for the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series at No Problem Raceway. Morning and early afternoon rain showers forced NHRA and No Problem Raceway officials to cancel Friday's qualifying rounds.
More than 400 cars will take to the track on Saturday with qualifying and time trials scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. with Top Alcohol Dragsters and Funny Cars making their qualifying runs at 1 and 5 p.m.
Defending event champion Lee Callaway is currently leading the South Central Division Top Alcohol Dragster points with Shelly Howard just 44 points behind. Howard is coming off a runner-up finish at last weekend's NHRA Mac Tools US Nationals. Jackie Stidham, last year's funny car event champion, is second in points behind last years division champion Tate Branch.
Tickets for this weekend's event are $20 for either Saturday or Sunday with children 11 and under free with a paid adult. For more information call the track, (985) 369-3693.
