Update Mickey & Trudy Thompson murder case

Dear Media Friends
	Thank you for your long and continued interest and support regarding the sad 1988 murders of our Brother and Sister, Racing Legend Mickey Thompson and his wife Trudy.  Your many years of loyalty and concern have been greatly appreciated.  Thank you for caring. As you can well imagine, it truly has been a tough and painful, long haul.
	We promised we would try to keep you updated.  However, recently, we have not contacted you regarding the murder case, simply because we have heard nothing, until just moments ago.  It still isn't much news, but we will keep our word, so here it is:
We have been notified by the Office of the Orange County District Attorney that the 4th District Court of Appeal has calendared yet another date, to again hear oral arguments on the same issue, territorial jurisdiction.  The DCA has supposedly been weighing Goodwin's appeal motion regarding the jurisdiction of the case.  No one to whom we have spoken, seems to understand why the DCA still wants to hear more arguments on the issue!  Goodwin remains in custody.
The date and location of the oral arguments are scheduled as follows:
October 21, 2003, 9:00 a.m.
District Court of Appeal, 4th Dist.

Michael Frank Goodwin, DOB: 2-4-45;  Federal Case # SACR 93-67-1
Michael Goodwin and former wife, Diane Sidel Goodwin, convicted of 13 counts of conspiracy and lying to financial institutions, sentenced to 30 months, Federal Prison, July 8, 1996.
(Santa Ana Criminal, year 1993, case number 67, defendant "1", Federal Court.)

Thompson Murder Case:
Mickey Thompson, 59, and Trudy Thompson, 41, murdered in the driveway of their Bradbury, CA, home at 6:05 a.m. on the morning of March 16, 1988
Michael F. Goodwin is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder and three special circumstance charges: Lying in wait, murder for financial gain and multiple homicides.
