OPTIMUS Chosen to Provide Automated Crash and Crime Scene Measurement/Documentation System for New Castle County, DE

SILVER SPRING, Md.--Sept. 10, 2003--

AutoDOCS to Speed Up and Streamline Investigations on Location, While Improving Accuracy with Low-Cost Satellite-Based Technology

OPTIMUS Corporation, a leader in public safety technology, today announced that New Castle County, Delaware has chosen AutoDOCS(TM) - a super-efficient, low-cost, automated crash and crime scene documentation system for use within its police department. AutoDOCS provides significant accuracy and speed over manual and laser-based systems for the on-site investigation of automobile, truck, bus, and rail accidents - enabling the investigation of incidents in minutes vs. hours. In addition, the highly flexible system can be easily deployed for similar uses by crime scene investigators.

"We commend New Castle County for its visionary approach to law enforcement, and are exited to have the opportunity to help make a positive impact on such a vibrant and fast growing region," according to OPTIMUS Corporation CEO, Eric Adolphe. "Our passion for public safety is never more evident than when a police department like this one has the opportunity to put our resources to work for the betterment of its citizens."

"We are extremely pleased to be the first in our region to deploy AutoDOCS, simply the best technology we've found for the fast and precise measurement and documentation of crash and crime scenes," according to Colonel David F. McAllister, New Castle County Chief of Police. "And with this solution from OPTIMUS, we will be able to significantly reduce the amount of time spent on administrative paperwork - and focus even more of our resources on what's really important - saving and protecting lives."

Using highly precise global positioning system (GPS) technology, AutoDOCS automatically generates a graphical representation of a scene that is accurate to less than two centimeters. AutoDOCS makes more effective use of manpower resources because only one individual is required to operate the system. The investigator simply "points and clicks" important objects and AutoDOCS automatically records the GPS measurements for each point, eliminating manual mistakes. Upon completion of the measurements, the processing software accurately draws the scene and generates a companion text-based accident report that can also be wirelessly emailed.
