Citroen finds its way with Smartnav by Trafficmaster
London, September 8 -- Citroen has announced that it is offering Smartnav, the latest satellite navigation system from Trafficmaster, as an approved accessory on all models in the UK. From 22nd September, Smartnav will be available through the Citroen network to both private and business customers.
Smartnav provides drivers with a highly functional, but simple to use navigation system, and has been acclaimed as a Best Buy from Which? and Auto Express magazine, as well as being honoured as Auto Express' Accessory of the Year 2003.
Citroen has worked with Trafficmaster since 1997, providing traffic data direct to the car and currently every C5 comes with Trafficmaster Oracle as standard. It believes that the integration of accurate traffic information and navigation will enhance the whole driving experience for its customers. Smartnav uses Trafficmaster's unique live, incident, historic and predictive traffic data to calculate routes around traffic delays and will alert drivers if there is a better route available.
Bob Lenton, Services & Parts Director at Citroen, comments: "We chose Smartnav above other satellite navigation systems, because we feel it is one step further than conventional sat-nav as it incorporates live, accurate traffic information and 24 hour assistance through trained Smartnav personal assistants, all as standard."
Citroen currently holds some 5% of the UK car market and sold over 150,000 vehicles in 2002. Citroen believes that Smartnav complements its strategy to provide advanced technology and style to all of its customers.
David Martell, Chief Executive of Trafficmaster, says: "This is a further development in our relationship with Citroen. Both companies appreciate the need to provide customers with high quality reliable products that make driving a pleasure. I am sure that together Smartnav and Citroen have a very positive future ahead."
Smartnav can be purchased from £570 plus VAT and installation, depending on model.
