IndX Software Releases XHQ 3.5 -- Optimizes Real-time Process Management
ALISO VIEJO, Calif.--Sept. 3, 2003--IndX Software Corp., the leading provider of real-time operations intelligence solutions, released XHQ 3.5. The new product has enhanced scalability and security capabilities, and optimizes operational performance. The 3.5 release was expanded and accelerated by $11 million of strategic investments from Siemens Venture Capital, SAP Ventures, Cargill Ventures and follow-on funding from its existing investors. XHQ(TM), IndX Software's flagship product, aggregates, relates and presents operational and business data from a variety of sources in real-time for improved decision-making. From their browsers, XHQ users can quickly survey consolidated content driven by scores of systems located across their plant and throughout their enterprise, all in support of optimizing Real-time Process Management (RPM).New features and benefits of XHQ 3.5 include:
-- Added capabilities within its time series trender, which puts powerful analytical tools in the hands of the end-user.
-- Increased ability to serve very large numbers of concurrent users with real-time information, while protecting the back-end operational sources from excessive query loading.
-- Provides administrators with new component-based security mechanisms that simplify solution management in multi-site environments.
-- Enhanced support for localized character sets, providing the end-user of worldwide deployments content in their native language.
-- Significantly expanded ability to aggregate data from very large numbers of back-end data sources, which insures usability at the largest process plants in the world.
XHQ is designed to be deployed in environments that contain disparate operational systems. By keeping the component-based XHQ information model and associated views cleanly isolated from the individual connections to back-end systems, XHQ users enjoy consistent, integrated, real-time views of operations even across sites with different back-end systems.
For individual sites with real-time operational data, XHQ delivers a strong, well documented ROI story. However, the most powerful application of XHQ is when the platform is installed across multiple sites within the enterprise. Not only do users within each plant realize the benefits of real-time operations intelligence at the site level, but greater efficiencies are also gained across multiple sites as operating personnel within one plant are able to share and/or access "best practices" from other plants without leaving their desktops. Corporate management is also able to gain real-time visibility into all plants, as well as establishing KPIs against which to compare each plant's performance. All this is possible without having to replace any existing IT infrastructure and can be implemented quickly and very cost effectively because XHQ's component based model has been designed to enable customers to enjoy a high level of content reuse, thereby reducing the time and cost associated with deployment. This reuse takes place within a given solution as well as across multiple sites within the enterprise.
"IndX currently has several of the largest companies in the world completing global deployments of XHQ. Our customers' experience with these recent deployments confirms that XHQ is a truly scalable software platform that is also cost effective to implement. The requirements that arise from managing solutions in such complex world-wide deployments present special challenges for a product which IndX is uniquely positioned to address," said George Bauer, director of Product Marketing at IndX. Bauer adds, "XHQ 3.5 introduces scalability, security and localization features, which makes IndX the clear leader today for global multi-site deployment."
