Porsche Cars North America Reports August U.S. Sales Up 16%

Sales Increased by 16 Percent

ATLANTA, Sept. 3 -- Porsche Cars North America, Inc., (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars (Boxster, 911 and Cayenne) in the United States, today announced U.S. retail sales for August totaled 2,275 cars, an increase of 16 percent compared to the same period last year. Total calendar year-to-date sales were 18,038, up from 15,677, an increase of 15 percent.

"Though the economy is improving, the sportscar segment naturally lags behind mainstream segments in recovery," said Peter Schwarzenbauer, PCNA President and CEO. "We are very pleased with the performance of the Porsche Cayenne, which is proving to be a major success for Porsche by bringing both new and traditional Porsche customers into dealer showrooms."
