Copart Opens in Toronto, Canada

FAIRFIELD, Calif.--Sept. 3, 2003--Copart, Inc. today announced that it has opened a salvage facility in Toronto, Canada. Toronto is the Company's first salvage facility in Canada. With the addition of this 28-acre greenfield location Copart now has 103 locations throughout North America.

"We are extremely excited about opening up in Canada," said Willis J. Johnson, Copart's Chief Executive Officer. "We have had numerous requests from customers to open in Canada. Many Canadian buyers already purchase vehicles from our U.S. locations via the web and are familiar with the Company and the quality of service we provide."

Since August 2002, Copart has added ten locations including two MAG sites in West Mifflin, PA and Richmond, VA and eight Copart salvage sites in Reno, NV; Springfield, MO; Corpus Christi, TX; Ft. Pierce, FL; Rancho Cucamonga, CA; Richmond, VA; Albany, NY and Toronto, Canada.

Copart, founded in 1982, provides vehicle suppliers, primarily insurance companies, with a full range of services to process and sell salvage vehicles through auctions, principally to licensed vehicle dismantlers, rebuilders, repair licensees and used vehicle dealers. Salvage vehicles are either damaged vehicles deemed a total loss for insurance or business purposes or are recovered stolen vehicles for which an insurance settlement with the vehicle owner has already been made. The Company operates 103 facilities in North America. It also provides services in other locations through its national network of independent salvage vehicle processors.
