COORS LIGHT TEAM FACTS:
* Chassis: The Coors Light team will race chassis #309 at
Darlington. This is the same car that finished 39th at Loudon, 13th at
Richmond and 7th at Martinsville this season.
* Richmond Facts: Sterling Marlin has posted seven top-10 finishes
in his 30 Richmond races. However, his best finish there was fourth in
September 1999. He has just two top-10s in his last 16 races there.
* Fascinating Fact: Sterling Marlin's best finish in 2003 has been
sixth-place, which he has done four times: Bristol, Talladega, Pocono
and Michigan. Marlin has not secured a top-5 finish yet this season.
* Richmond Facts: Forty-one of the 85 NASCAR Winston Cup races run
at Richmond since 1961 have been won from the top-three starting
positions. Marlin has no wins and no poles at Richmond International
Raceway, he has finished in the top-5 only twice in his career at this
track.
Sterling Marlin Quotes---
How do you feel about the SAFER walls that they just installed at
Richmond?
"I wish they had them last year. I think it is about time that tracks
like Richmond, where you go straight in the turns, had something like
safe walls. Anytime a track is improving their safety measures it is a
good thing. There are still a few tracks that could benefit from making
these same changes but we are getting there."
How do you feel about Richmond this weekend?
"Well we ran well in the spring, we had a fourth place car that finished
13th. Richmond is always fun because it is at night under the lights.
I know the fans love the race and they also love the track and that is
why it has sold out the past few races. There is a lot of side by side
racing that makes it exciting for fans and drivers alike. We have a
strong car and I am looking forward to racing at Richmond."
