SME Event to Feature Announcement of Granholm's Plan For 'Manufacturing Matters in Michigan'
DEARBORN, Mich., Sept. 2 -- Don't miss the kick-off of SME's Midwest Machine Tool Show at the Novi Expo on Sept. 9. In recognition of the critical leadership role that SME and its members play in helping the manufacturing industries advance, Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm has issued a proclamation declaring the week of Sept. 7-13 as "Michigan Manufacturing Week," to coincide with this premier manufacturing show that runs through Sept. 11.
The Governor's "jobs czar" David C. Hollister, director, Michigan Department of Consumer & Industry Services, will present the formal proclamation and help kick off the show at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9. He will also deliver a keynote address that provides the details of Governor Granholm's "Manufacturing Matters in Michigan" initiative and plans for an upcoming national Manufacturing Summit in Michigan -- both of which she alluded to at the Management Briefing Seminars in Traverse City earlier this month.
This is an event not to be missed! Media can sign up now to attend the kick-off session and keynote, and also attend the show for free, by contacting Barbara Gaston at (313) 425-3065.
