At Frankfurt, on a stand intentionally out of the ordinary in terms of its architecture and general ambiance, Peugeot pays tribute to the automobile for a truly international public. The acclaimed variety and vitality of its commercial range is exhibited in the form of 33 vehicles expressing, each in its own way, the charm, dynamism, good looks and engineering excellence of a marque that sells more than 75% of its products in the export market.
New Models A regular participant at this major biennial event in the motoring world, and respectful of its unique ability to welcome visitors into a friendly and relaxed yet professional environment imbued, Peugeot turns the spotlight on its most recent models. These include the recently launched 206 RC and the newly restyled 406 range, in its saloon, estate and coupé silhouettes. Peugeot also unveils a new model in its commercial range, the 307 CC, and gives visitors a glimpse, through the 407 ELIXIR, of forthcoming new additions to the range.
The stand will feature a full-scale model of the “Peugeot 4002”, the winning project in the second Peugeot Design Competition launched at the last Paris Motor Show, designed by Stefan SCHULZE. And the HOGGAR concept car, presented for the first time in Geneva, reappears here to exert its power of attraction over the German public. The 2,900 m2 of exhibition space devoted to Peugeot products in Frankfurt follows a natural theme, which for a number of years the marque has made its own and which clearly distinguishes it from the themes adopted by other manufacturers at this type of event.
A sensational archipelago Like an archipelago, the Peugeot stand is constructed around a large central atoll comprising six small, product-specific islands, abounding with greenery, exotic plants and water features. The original architecture of the Peugeot stand offers excellent visibility and creates a feeling of well-being through the clever interplay of sensory effects. The senses of sight, smell, hearing and touch are pleasantly brought into play, enhancing the surprise and emotional impact of some of the exhibits. Each island evokes a world of sensation that varies according to the vehicles occupying centre stage:
“Vulcano” island highlights the sense of the extreme as expressed by the 307 CC, in terms of freedom and the power of escape, or the sense of the extreme portrayed by the 206 WRC in its role as a sporty, top performer.
“Fruit” island plays host to the 206 CC, shown here as the object of temptation par excellence, akin to a forbidden fruit.
“Sand” island is dedicated to the HOGGAR concept car, placed in its setting of adventure.
“Rock” island features the recently restyled 406 Coupé, shown to great effect against a backdrop of slate and pebbles, combined with the contrasting colours and scents of lavender.
The Peugeot 4002 concept car occupies the “colourful shores” island, where it stands astride a giant leaf, like a metallic beetle.
A technology island is devoted to an exhibition of all engines existing in the Peugeot family and those destined to be added to the range. Its design resembles a technological greenhouse, a unique place where the engines of tomorrow are invented.
