ALTA International to Port ALTA PowerB2O to Additional Operating Systems; Manufacturing Event Management solution to run on AIX, Oracle

DETROIT--Aug. 2, 20037, 2003--To meet customer and market demand for the ALTA PowerB2O(TM) solution, Detroit based ALTA International has announced its commitment to port its Manufacturing Event Management solution to the IBM AIX platform in the near term, with plans for a port to the Oracle database platform in the future. Already running on the HP NonStop Server, today's most scaleable and highest availability platform, and the Microsoft Windows NT and IBM DB2 platforms, ALTA PowerB2O(TM) enables automotive suppliers and logistics companies worldwide to achieve more profitable revenue by implementing strategies such as In-Sequence Supply, Lean Manufacturing, or Build-to-Order.

Thanks in part to customer input, ALTA PowerB2O(TM) Version 6.2 includes new functionality for integrating business systems, as well as enhanced plant floor capabilities in the areas of error-proofing, traceability, and plant floor integration. According to Raad, "The decision to port to additional platforms is a further example of our willingness to listen and meet partner and customer requirements."

The strength of the IBM partnership, as well as customer and market demand, led ALTA to decide to undertake the port ALTA PowerB2O(TM) to the AIX platform first. ALTA will then begin the port to the Oracle database platform, expected to run on AIX.
