JOHNNY MILLER READY TO HIT THE STREETS OF DENVER
DENVER - Johnny Millerıs battle for his first Trans-Am Series for the
BFGoodrich Tires Cup championship will heat up as the Series takes to the
streets of Denver during the Centrix Financial Grand Prix of Denver weekend,
Round 9 of the 2003 Trans-Am Series title chase. Although teammate Scott
Pruett could clinch the championship at Denver, Miller, driver of the No. 64
Eaton Cutler-Hammer Jaguar XKR, said the championship is far from over as he
readies to compete in the Mile High City.

Miller, who sits second in points, earned his second Series victory this
year at Lime Rock, after winning the pole. This year, Miller has six podium
finishes in eight starts. Last weekend at Road America, Miller earned his
second pole this season, and finished second after challenging race winner
Pruett throughout the race.

³This event will have me pumped up,² said Miller, who during his Trans-Am
Series career he has recorded two victories, 24 podium finishes, 37 top
fives, 64 top tens, and four poles in 98 starts. ³That will definitely boost
for my chances at a victory.

³We struggled last year with the pavement changes at Denver,² continued
Miller of his sixth-place finish last season. ³It was really a difficult
race. I had a power-steering failure during the race. Last year doesnıt
bring back fond memories as far as the race itself goes.

³However, the town and the event are just incredible,² added Miller. ³The
track is right in downtown, making for an air of excitement. It was really a
first-class race and Iım really looking forward to competing here again. Our
experience here should give us an edge. Plus, weıre going into this race
knowing the points battle isnıt over yet, but with the knowledge that we
have to be at the top of our game to accomplish our goal of winning the
championship this year.²

The Grand Prix of Denver is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31.
The race will air on tape-delayed basis on Monday, Sept. 1 on SPEED Channel
at 1:30 p.m.
