Altair Engineering CEO Jim Scapa Receives Department of Defense Award

TROY, Mich.--Aug. 25, 2003--Jim Scapa, CEO of Altair Engineering Inc., a global leader in product design consulting, engineering software and high performance computing technology, was named the recipient of the U.S. Department of Defense-sponsored 2003 ESGR Above and Beyond Award, at a dinner and awards ceremony held Friday evening, Aug. 22, 2003 in Ypsilanti, Mich.

The 2003 Above and Beyond Award was presented to Mr. Scapa by the Michigan Committee for ESGR, a Department of Defense sponsored all-volunteer committee of business, community and military leaders.

In accepting the award, Mr. Scapa noted, "On behalf of Altair Engineering, I am pleased that we are able to play a small part in assisting the patriotic men and women who voluntarily serve our country in time of need. They deserve the support of each and every one of us."
