Franklin, Wis., Aug. 25–The final weekend of racing at the Hales Corners 
Speedway is scheduled for the 2003 Labor Day calendar.  After this coming weekend, 
the track is scheduled to by sold to Menards, Inc. and the site cleared for a 
Menards super store.

On Friday, August 29, the AMA Pro Series motorcycles invade the 1/3 mile clay 
oval for an event that is part of the Harley Davidson Motor Company's 100th 
Anniversary.  Grand National and Sportster classes will have 40-lap main events 
each.  The first race is scheduled for 7 PM with the gates opening at 5:30

Saturday August 30 concludes the 56th year of stock car racing at Hales 
Corners with a full program of UMP late model, sportsmen, modified, Hales Whales 
and Mud Puppy events.  All of the divisions are scheduled for extended features, 
with added Legends events.  Racing Round-up will be broadcasting live from 
under the oak tree in the parking lot starting at 4:30 PM, with a radio program 
honoring the tracks history.  Due to the heavy schedule that night, qualifying 
has been moved up to 5:45 PM with racing to follow.

On Labor Day, Monday Sept. 1, the last Hales Corners Speedway Demo Derby will 
take place with gates opening at 10:30 AM.  In excess of 100 cars will be 
destroyed in this, the final event of the historic speedway's story.
