PRUETT FAST IN FIRST ROUND AT ROAD AMERICA
ELKHART LAKE, Wis. Scott Pruett began his assault on the Road America
speed charts Friday morning, by setting the fastest lap in first-round
Trans-Am Series for the BFGoodrich Tires Cup practice at the 4.048-mile road
course. In fact, Pruettıs 2:08.362-minute lap in the No. 7 Jaguar R

³The car is great,² said Pruett. ³We were using the same setup that we used
(to win) at Mosport and Infineon, and it worked great there. We expect to
only make some minor changes before this afternoonıs practice session and
tomorrowıs qualifying run.²
Second fastest was Tomy Drissi, who turned in a 2:10.111-minute lap in the
No. 5 Stuck on You Jaguar XKR. Rookie Bobby Sak was third quickest in the
No. 10 Revolution Motorsports Chevrolet Corvette, ahead of Johnny Miller in
the No. 64 Eaton Cutler-Hammer Jaguar XKR. Stu Hayner completed the top five
in the No. 2 GMAC Commercial Finance/Trenton Forging Chevrolet Corvette.
