As part of his experience with Lafarge, Mr. Friio managed several successful special projects that utilized Lafarge's diverse material divisions. It was during this phase of his career that he developed an appreciation for, and expertise in, alternative stone products.
In addition to his work in concrete construction and other cement related functions, he gathered significant exposure to project management at Kellam Berg Engineering Ltd. where, as a project Manager he coordinated all civil related infra-structure work on client projects and held responsibility for budget preparation, market analysis, contract documents and contract tenders.
His career has also provided him with significant experience in the development of commercial and residential real estate based projects. As President of Cade Developments /966985 Alberta Ltd. Craig Hannah: M.Eng., P.Eng., Vice President of Technology and New Product Development Craig has a Master of Engineering degree, specializing in concrete materials development and structural design; and has twenty-five years experience in the construction industry. A number of those years were spent developing cementitious materials, including a year in the Central Research Laboratory of the largest Japanese cement company. During this experience, Cellular Concrete was identified as a solution to the fire-hazard and structural limitations of plastic-foam-core building panels. An expansion process was located in Europe, that when integrated with specialized knowledge of materials, process equipment and the engineering and construction industry, culminated in the unique, complete Cellular Concrete package that is now offered by CEMATRIX (Canada) Inc., www.cematrix.com. Mr. Hannah in his role as Vice President with Cematrix (Canada) Inc. was the leading inventor of the final process that resulted in the proprietary patents being granted Cematrix (Canada) Inc. for their "air infiltrated" concrete family of products.
The existing officers and directors welcome both Mr. Friio and Mr. Hannah, and look forward to having their valued input and guidance in the refinement, organization and role out of Apache's new family of Engineered Stone and Specialty Cement Products, initially for the America's Marketplace and eventually for the World Markets.
About Apache:
Apache Motor Corporation ("AMC") has acquired a series of further refinements, to its initially acquired revolutionary, new engineered, stone technology. The final family of products of the refined and homogenized engineering and processes', will be known and marketed under the name "Manterra". This new refined technology embodies a proprietary formulated matrix and production process using a cement base to manufacture stone products with inherent advantages never before seen or achieved, by anything else in the market. Manterra is a unique solution for any user of stone or ceramic product who is concerned with appearance, strength, flexibility, durability, quality, availability, and cost effectiveness. It can be ordered by the customer to look and feel like many types of natural stone finish. It can replace marble or finished natural stone at a fraction of the time and cost of quarried natural products in a range of colours, hues, patterns etc., that are limited only by the designer's creativity.
Manterra will initially be manufactured as a high and medium gloss wall, fascia and flooring tile and panel product. These tiles and panels, are suitable for commercial and residential use, and for interior or exterior installations. Manterra can, and will, also be used in many other typical stone applications (e.g. the manufacture of tabletops, countertops, fireplace surrounds, mantles, moldings or inlays). One of the more attractive features of Manterra Product's, is the ease of use. Now anyone with simple "handyman" skills can tackle a tile, or paneling project around their home, without the need for specialty tools, skills or training.
Manterra is derived from base cement and other common materials that are readily available and in large supply. For this reason Manterra is relatively inexpensive to manufacture and can be produced in large quantities without any supply-side restrictions. It is also (as mentioned above), a ready-to-use product that fits readily and easily into existing distribution channels, such as all of the big box stores, and national retailers.
The company has identified and is currently in final negotiations on their initial production facilities in Guadalajara, Mexico where it plans to open the first production plant in November, 2003. The company is also presently evaluating and entertaining a Joint Venture proposal to open a similar Production Plant in Manzanillo, Mexico in the first quarter of 2004. Early indicators are that the market demands for the initial family of Manterra product offerings, will be several times larger than the capacity of the first plant envisioned for Guadalajara, Mexico. Therefore, the necessity to insure that the company can meet market response to the finalized Manterra offerings, our production capacities are expanding to satisfy and build upon the actual demand wave that results for the products.
