Visteon Corporation Names Kimberly Welch Vice President of Corporate Communications
DEARBORN, Mich., Aug. 19, 2003 -- Visteon Corporation has named Kimberly A. Welch, vice president, Corporate Communications, effective August 18, 2003. In this position, she has global responsibility for the corporation's communication function including the development of communication policy and strategy, executive and employee communications and public relations activities.
"Kim's proven success in leading a global corporate communication function with a Tier One supplier and her experience in the automotive industry makes her a valuable addition to our leadership team," said Bob Marcin, senior vice president, Corporate Relations. "We welcome Kim's leadership and expertise in developing global strategies and messages for our many important constituents."
Welch comes to Visteon from Federal-Mogul Corporation where she had been vice president, Corporate Communications since 1997, responsible for corporate positioning and branding, executive and employee communications, media relations, financial communications and community and government relations. Welch also was actively involved in the company's electronic business initiatives.
Prior to her joining Federal-Mogul in 1996, she was an account executive managing automotive and automotive supplier accounts for MVP Communications.
Welch also worked for General Motors in the Chevrolet-Pontiac-GM of Canada public affairs group as a communications manager for the engineering group. She also served as an executive speechwriter.
Welch began her professional career as an editor and reporter for The Reminder Newspapers in Oakland County, Michigan. She has two degrees from Central Michigan University, Mount Pleasant, Michigan: a master's in business administration and a bachelor of fine and applied arts with a double major in journalism and broadcast and cinematic arts.
