Thrifty Car Sales Selected as a Top Ten New Franchise By Entrepreneur Magazine; Nationally Branded Used Car Sales Franchise Ranks #9 on Elite List

TULSA, Okla.--Aug. 1, 20038, 2003--Thrifty Car Sales, the used car sales division of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc. , announced today that it has been named as a Top 10 Best New Franchise by Entrepreneur magazine, one of the largest and most prestigious authorities of business media. This annual ranking announces the most successful and reliable organizations available in a franchise format. Based on an exclusive criteria developed for new franchises, versus established ones, Thrifty Car Sales ranked a remarkable ninth out of the top 50 new franchises in the nation accomplished enough to make the review.

The Top 50 New Franchise list is derived from organizations listed in Entrepreneur's 24th Annual Franchise 500(R) published in January 2003. Organizations on the Franchise 500 are judged on a set of stringent criteria including financial strength, stability, size and growth rate of the company's system. Whereas organizations on the Franchise 500 have no business existence age restrictions, companies on the Top 50 New Franchises list have only been offering entrepreneurs outstanding franchise opportunities since 1998.
