'Lowrider Legends Tour 2003' Hits San Francisco, CA With a Custom Car Show, Concert, Hydraulics Competition, and More

ANAHEIM, Calif., Aug. 14, 2003 -- GoLo Entertainment, Inc. and Lowrider Magazine, part of PRIMEDIA's Automotive Enthusiast and Action Sports Group, present the Lowrider Legends Tour 2003. This stop of a nationwide Tour featuring the nation's most unique customized vehicles takes place at the Cow Palace in San Francisco (Geneva Ave. and Santos St.), Sunday, August 24 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is sponsored by Quaker State, Black Magic, Nitto Tires, Exide Orbital Batteries, Player Wire Wheels and Limited Alloy Wheels.

The Lowrider Legends Tour 2003 showcases an expected 500 vehicles in categories including Traditional Lowriders, Bombs -- defined as 1954 & older -- Trucks, SUVs, Luxury, Custom Compacts, Bicycles, Tricycles. All vehicles will be competing in the $10,000 Quaker State Championship Cup, awarded in October to the overall points leader for the Lowrider Legends Tour 2003. And expect a visual spectacle as vehicles and their owners compete in various categories of the hydraulics competition (Hop) sponsored by CCE Hydraulics. Cars and trucks may land on their roofs!

Attendees will also enjoy a concert featuring the legendary rap group Digital Underground, the hot new rapper Baby Bash, and comedian KJ as well as sponsor display booths and vendors offering Lowrider merchandise -- from sunglasses to car parts. The show concludes with the world-famous bikini and male hard-body contests and the exhibitor awards ceremony. With more than $20,000 in prize money up for grabs, you are sure to see some of the most beautiful vehicles and hottest attractions Northern California has to offer. Only one ticket gets you in to see all of this unbelievable action, Sunday, August 24th at the Cow Palace.

Tickets for the Lowrider Legends Tour 2003 go on sale Sunday, August 24th at 10 AM for $25 each. 2 for 1 coupons are available at Bay Area Kragen Stores or inside the latest issue of Lowrider Magazine. Please follow the directions printed on the coupon. Children 10 years and under are free with a paying adult.

Show vehicle pre-registration deadline is August 11th and the fee is $25. Walk-up registration is available on space availability only and begins Saturday, August 23rd, 12 noon - 4 PM and Sunday, July 13th, 6 AM - 10 AM; the fee is $45. Hydraulic competitor registration is on Sunday, August 24th, 7 AM - 10 AM; the fee is $60.
