Mobil 1 Selected as Factory Fill for Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII

FAIRFAX, Va.--Aug. 1, 20033, 2003--

World's Leading Synthetic Motor Oil Also Featured in Lancer Evolution PitPass Maintenance Program

ExxonMobil today announced that Mobil 1 with SuperSyn has been selected as original equipment (factory fill) for Mitsubishi Motors' 2003 Lancer Evolution VIII. The fully synthetic motor oil will also be included in Mitsubishi's manufacturer's maintenance program designed specifically for the Lancer Evolution VIII. Each new vehicle will be filled with Mobil 1 with SuperSyn viscosity grade 10W-30.

"The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII represents our newest installment in delivering World Rally Championship driving performance to the everyday driver," said Jim Vitz, vice president of parts and service for Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. "To help maximize the performance of the 271-horsepowered, turbo-charged engine, we selected Mobil 1 with SuperSyn as our factory fill oil and as the exclusive oil for our PitPass Limited Maintenance Program."

Designed to enhance the care of the Lancer Evolution, PitPass offers a set of maintenance services, including oil and filter changes, tire rotations and 27-point inspections, over a three-year period or 36,000 miles.

"The performance of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution has captivated racing enthusiasts as well as every-day drivers worldwide," said Jan Crowe, automotive lubricants manager-Americas, ExxonMobil Lubricants & Specialties. "We are extremely proud that Mitsubishi recognized the performance benefits and features of Mobil 1 with SuperSyn when selecting the factory fill engine lubricant for the new Lancer Evolution VIII and for the PitPass program."

Mobil 1 with SuperSyn provides a variety of performance benefits to the Lancer Evolution VIII. These include fast lubrication at start-ups in temperatures as cold as -40(degree)C (-40(degree)F) and the ability to handle extreme high temperatures -- up to 204(degree)C (400(degree)F). In addition, Mobil 1 with SuperSyn enhances engine cleanliness and operating efficiency. Compared to conventional motor oils, Mobil 1 with SuperSyn offers greater resistance to oil oxidation, or thickening, and significantly helps reduce the buildup of sludge and harmful deposits, which can lead to engine wear and damage to bearings and other lubricated parts.

Mobil 1 10W-30 is ideally suited for high-performance super-charged and turbo-charged engines.

Mobil 1 is also original equipment in a number of other high-performance vehicles.

Mobil 1 and SuperSyn are registered trademarks of Exxon Mobil Corporation or one of its subsidiaries.
