PRIMEDIA Promotes Steven Rousseau To Group Publisher of the Consumer Automotive Titles

DETROIT, Aug. 12, 2003 -- PRIMEDIA Inc. , the leading targeted media company, announced today that Steven Rousseau, 42, has been promoted to Group Publisher of PRIMEDIA's consumer automotive titles: MOTOR TREND, AUTOMOBILE MAGAZINE and TRUCK TREND. Rousseau was formerly Regional Vice President and Managing Director for Advertising Sales, Detroit Region, for MOTOR TREND and AUTOMOBILE MAGAZINE.

In this position, Rousseau will focus on expanding integrated advertising sales and marketing opportunities not only within the PRIMEDIA Consumer Automotive Group, but across all of PRIMEDIA's enthusiast publishing groups in the Detroit market. He will be responsible for managing the sales teams of the publications, events, websites, and related properties in the Consumer Automotive Group, as well as working with circulation to expand distribution and reach.

"Steve's knowledge of the publishing business, great relationships in the advertising community and his track record of achieving sustained growth make him the natural choice to be Group Publisher of PRIMEDIA's consumer automotive titles," said Lou Mohn, President of PRIMEDIA's Consumer Automotive Group. "We are confident that Steve's experience will bring a fresh perspective and the type of marketing and advertising solutions that these titles need to deepen their connection with key advertisers and extend reach into new areas."

Rousseau joined EMAP USA, formerly Petersen Publishing, in 1999 as Western Advertising Director of MOTOR TREND. In 2000, Rousseau was promoted to Publisher of MOTOR TREND and he relocated to Detroit. In September 2002, he was named Group Advertising Director for MOTOR TREND and AUTOMOBILE MAGAZINE after PRIMEDIA acquired the EMAP USA properties and merged the two entities.

Prior to working with the PRIMEDIA Consumer Automotive Group, Rousseau spent twelve years of his publishing career in the Southern California marketplace working closely to develop integrated marketing solutions and advertising strategies with Asian automotive manufacturers.

Rousseau graduated from Ferris State University and currently resides in Detroit with his wife and two daughters.
