Auto-Owners Insurance Chooses Duck Creek Solution to Support Growing Business and to Leverage the Internet
BOLIVAR, Mo.--Aug. 1, 20032, 2003--Duck Creek's EXAMPLE Platform(TM) Product Suite selected after extensive scalability and performance testing |
Duck Creek Technologies, Inc., a provider of product management software and services to the insurance industry, today announced that Michigan-based Auto-Owners Insurance has selected Duck Creek's EXAMPLE Platform (EXAMPLE Author(TM), EXAMPLE Server(TM)) to replace Auto-Owners' legacy rating environment.
In addition to replacing the legacy mainframe-based rating environment, Auto-Owners Insurance was looking for a technology solution that would allow them to coexist with their other legacy systems, yet leverage the power of the Internet and provide a cost effective, easy-to-use solution for their business user community. Auto-Owners' initial implementation will utilize Duck Creek's rating and underwriting rules engine for their automobile line of business.
Bob Buchanan, Vice President - Applications Development, commented, "We wanted a solution that could take us well into the future; we wanted more than just a replacement for our current legacy rating system. We evaluated multiple rating engine alternatives. Based on our evaluation, the Duck Creek solution provided the best fit for our current and future rating engine requirements. The Duck Creek product provides a high level of functionality, utilization of XML and Internet technologies, good system administration features, ease of use, and scalability."
Mr. Buchanan continued, "We are very excited about the opportunities that Duck Creek's EXAMPLE platform provides us. It creates an environment that will allow us to continue to enhance and improve our current automation offerings, which helps us meet our corporate goal of providing Super Outstanding Service to our independent agency force."
Kerrick Tweedy, Duck Creek's Vice President of Implementation added, "We appreciate Auto-Owners' selection of Duck Creek for their technology and insurance functionality needs. Their approach of complementing the older legacy technology with the new is an emerging trend that we are seeing in the insurance industry, especially as the pressure to maximize the return on IT investment increases. Finding innovative ways to introduce new technologies and leverage the Internet without turning the IT operation upside-down or compromising performance standards is both a cost- and risk-effective approach."
