RUHLMAN AWARDED THIRD FOR TROIS-RIVIERES TRANS-AM

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

RUHLMAN AWARDED THIRD FOR TROIS-RIVIERES TRANS-AM

Greensboro, NC (Aug 10) Randy Ruhlman was awarded third place for his
drive at the Trois-Rivieres Trans-Am in the #40 Preformed Line
Products/Coyote Closure Chevrolet Corvette. The revised results provide
Ruhlman with the position, points, and monies for third, after the Trans-Am
Series for the BFGoodrich Tires Cup revised the Trois-Rivieres post-race
penalties levied against driver Tommy Drissi, whose car was found to be too
low after the race. The revised top three are Scott Pruett, first, John
Miller, second, and Ruhlman, third.

Post race inspection found Drissi¹s Rocketsports Jaguar to be ³in violation
of Rule 2.10² (ground clearance). He was immediately penalized points and
money, but not position. The change in the penalty now also takes away the
position and provides a consistent penalty, which, by precedent, places cars
found to be in non-conformance to the rear of the field. Drissi, and another
driver Joey Scarallo who also was in non-conformance, were moved to the
bottom of the results, with the notation stating, ³excluded from results.²
In addition, neither Drissi nor Scarallo will receive Drivers or Team
Owner¹s points or prize money for the Trois-Rivieres event. The rest of the
field moves up as a result, putting Ruhlman in third, Mike Lewis in fourth,
and former CART and Formula Atlantic driver, Claude Bourbonnais, in fifth.

This makes the second year in a row that Ruhlman has scored in the top three
at the Grand Prix of Trois Rivieres. Last year, Ruhlman, the 2002 winner of
the ³Most Improved Driver of the Year", finished second at Trois Rivieres to
his Tom Gloy Racing Teammate Butch Leitzinger. Ruhlman currently drives for
the Minneapolis based, Derhaag Motorsports.
